WHO AM I?
My name is Stefania. I'm a 33-year old living in Montreal with her boyfriend and her Boston Terrier. I come from a loud, loving Italian family. I started working in the apparel industry nearly ten years ago (jesus that's a long time), first as a fresh post-grad working a reception desk, eventually finding my way into product development and sales.
Likes: Pizza, Frosted Mini Wheats, and sheet cake from the grocery store. (I've been told I eat like an unsupervised child.)

WHAT IS THIS BLOG?
As I type this, today marks a month since our apartment went into lockdown, and three weeks since being let go from my job of five years. My schedule burst wide open. There is only so much reading, baking, tv-watching, dog-walking a person can do before your days start blending together and anxiety kicks into high-gear.
I needed something new to keep me productive, without having to leave my home. So, like millions billions grillions of other people, I sought out the internet for a solution.

There is only so much reading, baking, tv-watching, dog-walking a person can do before your days start blending together and anxiety kicks into high-gear.

I want to create a fun place to hangout online. I want this space to capture what it feels like when I get together with girlfriends -- catch up, talk movies and podcasts and makeup and feelings and pizza, laugh a lot, finish all the wine. My close friends fill my heart to the brim and are the ultimate inspiration.
There are also loads of cool blogs and websites and magazines out there that I truly admire -- if I can channel an iota of their energy and style, it'll be a job well done.
Box Cake is Montreal-based by default because, well, that's where I live and I love my city. Hopefully, the things that get shared here are relatable enough across the board. At the same time, the world is OBVIOUSLY full of realities outside of my own, and I want to use this space to explore those experiences, too.
Why the name? It's only a placeholder for now. In all likelihood, the name will ultimately stick because my lazy ass won't think of something better.
Which is fine because "Books, Booze, Box Cake" is very on-brand for me.
