Do you have any nerdy hobbies? Unsurprisingly, I have a ton. Sudoku has long been one of them.
Did you know: Sudoku is awesome for improving cognition skills! What's more, since these puzzles essentially entail DOING MATH, I figure it's a respectable pastime to offset my hours of mindless phone-scrolling.
But it's very much a love-hate relationship. The thing is, sometimes these puzzles are freaken HARD. Most people wrongly assume I am an easygoing, even-tempered team player. I'm actually horribly competitive and a huge sore loser! I don't like to play games unless I can win. (Gross, I know.) So, when starting a new Sudoku grid, my skill level of choice was always Easy or (on a really ambitious day) Medium.
Then, back in May, Josh gifted me The Huge Book of Hard Sudoku. Touched by his very sweet gesture, I put my pride aside and gave these tough ones a go. At first, every single page was impossible to complete. Gradually, I got the hang of increasingly trickier puzzles. Sure, the majority were abandoned unfinished, but some I managed to crack! Most impressive of all: I've learned to enjoy the challenge (usually).
There you have it. I like solving number games in my spare time lol. What is your dorkiest pastime?
