Comfort Movies

Cup of Jo recently posted this article about comfort movies. It got me thinking about my own collection of feel-good favorites.

My comfort movies usually change over the years, becoming little time capsules for specific moments in my life. When I was fourteen, I basically had Billy Elliot and Heartbreakers playing on a loop. Around nineteen, it felt like I was only ever watching Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Pride & Prejudice, and Baby Mama. In my early-twenties, 500 Days of Summer was a reliable pick-me-up.

At the same time, there are also a handful of titles that have never faltered from my list. I've loved some of these for decades (literally). It's not a very highbrow assortment, but watching these movies makes me feel great, and the fact that I haven't outgrown them is very comforting to me.

Breakfast at Tiffany's (please don't judge my basic side)
In The Loop (because sometimes you need to soothe a crotchety mood with some mean-spirited laughter)

Finally, there are movies I might not outright reach for in a funk, but will ALWAYS fall into super easily...

Honestly, there are so many more that I'm forgetting (my memory recall sucks).

What are your favorite feel-good movies? Maybe you have a comfort TV show instead? (I certainly have a long list of those, too.) I'm always around to swap notes :)
