The other day, as I was walking home from the dentist, I gave my dad a call just to say hi. He was so surprised by the impromptu afternoon chat that, later in the evening, he called me back to say thanks. Thanks? But we talk all the time?
That's when I realized... I routinely text my parents throughout the day, EVERY day, but we only communicate voice-to-voice once or twice a week. It *feels like* we speak all the time because we're in touch constantly -- family group chats, emails, sending photos and memes.
Pretty wild how technology mucks with our perception of reality, eh! Maybe that's not necessarily a bad thing. We might not speak daily but, thanks to our pocket computers, I keep in touch with my family non-stop. I couldn't be happier about it :)
How often to you call your parents, family, loved ones?
