Hello from the last Monday of July! It's starting to feel like the longer this pandemic drags out, the faster time is passing by. Those first few weeks in lockdown were interminable, but the last month was a blink. Anyway. I'd like to start the week with a very serious conversation...
Does a bowl of cereal count as a meal?
(Yes, I think it freaken does.)
I make* cereal for breakfast almost every morning. Depending on laziness, I'm also liable to have a big bowl for dinner. I'm talking All Bran Flakes, Frosted Mini Wheats, or Multi-Grain Cheerios -- you know, HEALTHY ones lol. Lucky Charms, Cap'n Crunch, and the gang are dessert cereals. (Duh.)
*Note: When a dish takes more than one step to prepare -- in this case: (1) cereal goes into bowl, (2) milk goes onto cereal -- that's called "making food" in my books.
Cereal is fast, easy, and filling. Throw some blueberries or chopped bananas in there for bonus nutrition. Or get really wacky and use chocolate milk instead of the regular stuff. It's so versatile! You can't ask for more from a good meal.
Moseying around the internet, I found a recipe for homemade Lucky Charms. Making marshmallows seems daunting (and super messy) but I might give it a try anyway :)
What's your favorite cereal? Do you even like the stuff?
